Girls Competitive Program

In the summer of 2017, OISC had a very vibrant and successful Girls Competitive Program with 18 competitive girls teams, which spanned every age group. Our goal is to provide all our players with a fun and memorable youth experience in a high-performance learning environment. OISC is a firm supporter of learning and development and not just winning.

OISC is a neighbourhood club that offers programs for every age from 4 to 74 years old and every level of ability and commitment. For the Girls Competitive Program, we offer a range of competitive levels and for most age groups we have 2 or 3 teams at different levels of play. OISC prides itself in having its teams placed in the appropriate group for its skill and commitment level.

Our club has chosen not to have a team in the OPDL (provincial league) since we believe that sending our older teams to Showcase Tournaments is significantly better then travelling up and down the 401 on weekends. In the past, we have had some of our teams go to Europe and/or Showcase Tournaments in Canada and the USA.

The Girls Competitive Program operates year round skill based program starting with our excellent Winter Program from early October to the third week of February, followed by our spring team selection and preparation period from the last week of February to mid May and then are our summer league period.

We strongly recommend that any players wishing to join our competitive program or move up the competitive levels participate in our Winter Program, which is a wonderful skill development opportunity. Our Winter Program is very proud to announce the addition of the new Franco facility to our family of facilities and the Franco facility is the only official Futsal facility in Ottawa.

Also, it is with great pride that the try-outs then move to our two artificial turf fields at Hillcrest and Franco in April. OISC is the only soccer club in the district with their own artificial turf fields and we have two of them!!! All of our full field Girls competitive teams play all their home games on these magnificent fields.

The OISC Girls Summer Program is divided into three stages:

2)    GU15 to GU18

For our top teams in this group that play in the regional group, our goal is have high-level training which will enable them to play at the highest levels in Ottawa. We have had many of our players graduate to be players on university and college programs. Year round training is expected in order to be a member of these teams

3)    GU13 to GU14

This group, over the years, has taken many memorable trips at the U14 age group with the Gothia Cup in Sweden being the most recent. The teams at this group start to solidify with less player changes then at younger ages. Winter Training becomes and evaluation factor in the team selections.

4)    GU9 to GU12

This is our competitive entry-level program with emphasize on development and reliance on athletic development through participation in multiple sports. Winter training is available and encouraged for those that want to either enter the competitive stream or advance in it.

We strongly recommend that any players wishing to join the competitive program or move up the competitive levels participate in the Winter Program.

Most teams in the Girls Competitive Program all play in the East Regional Soccer League (ERSL). The try-outs for the Girls Competitive Program start the last week of February. It should be noted that you should register as soon as possible in January, so that we can plan the try-outs better and that you can receive all information in advance.

All summer registrations will be done online. When registering please ensure you follow the step-by-step instructions provided to you as you register.
